Snowflake Templates to Print and Cut

Paper snowflakes without the folding and without the guesswork. Each sheet carries a different crystal, printed as one large black outline on white with nothing else on the page, so the whole set goes through a home printer on the cheap setting.

Ages 3-8 12 sheets

Classic six-point snowflake template to print and cut out Classic Six-Point Snowflake Six straight arms, each carrying one pair of short side branches, drawn at the size that fills a whole sheet and cuts in a single pass. Download PDF

Chunky thick-armed snowflake template to print and cut out Chunky Snowflake for Little Hands Six fat rounded arms and no thin detail anywhere, so the cut line never disappears under a small pair of scissors. Download PDF
Star-tipped snowflake template to print and cut out Star-Tipped Snowflake Every one of the six arms finishes in a tiny five-point star, the detail that makes this the one worth colouring before it gets cut. Download PDF
Round-tipped snowflake template to print and cut out Round-Tipped Snowflake A calm, perfectly symmetrical flake with a round dot on the end of every arm, the gentlest outline in the set to follow. Download PDF
Heart-tipped snowflake template to print and cut out Heart-Tipped Snowflake Six little hearts sit where the points would normally be, which turns a winter flake into something that still works in February. Download PDF
Feathered fern snowflake template to print and cut out Feathered Fern Snowflake Long arms feathered with rows of short spikes, the closest shape here to a real snow crystal seen through a lens. Download PDF
Snowflake in a circle template to print and cut out Snowflake in a Circle The flake sits inside a plain ring, so the cut is one easy circle and the delicate arms never get snipped off by mistake. Download PDF
Smiling snowflake template with a face to print and cut out Smiling Snowflake A wide open smile and two dot eyes in the middle of the flake, the one every preschool group asks to colour first. Download PDF
Diamond-point snowflake template to print and cut out Diamond-Point Snowflake Sharp diamond points around a small hexagon centre, a flake that looks more like a cut gem than a piece of weather. Download PDF
Dotted-arm snowflake template to print and cut out Dotted-Arm Snowflake Small open circles run down each of the six arms and can be pushed out with a hole punch once the flake is cut free. Download PDF
Double-layered snowflake template to print and cut out Double-Layered Snowflake A second, smaller flake sits inside the first, which makes this the best one here for glueing onto a contrasting colour. Download PDF

A folded paper snowflake is a lottery. You fold, you cut, you open it out, and the arms are either even or they are not. These 12 sheets take the guesswork out: the crystal is already drawn, the six arms already match, and the only job left is the cutting.

Ordinary printer paper is what you want for anything that will hang in a window, because thin paper lets the light through the gaps between the arms. Move up to card only for a flake you plan to draw around more than a few times, since a paper edge goes furry after a handful of outings.

Do these snowflakes need to be folded?

No. Every flake is printed whole and already symmetrical, so a child cuts once around the outline and it is finished. Folding is a separate skill and none of these sheets depend on it.
