Ice Cream Coloring Pages

Type ice cream coloring pages into a search box and you get the same cone forty times over. One scoop, one waffle grid, one wobbly line for the drip. It is a perfectly good drawing and a child will colour it once, which is exactly the problem, because after that there is nothing left to reach for.

A zentangle cone packed with fine repeating detail. And a cartoon cone caught halfway through melting, with thick drips running over the edge.

Where the ice cream comes from

The ice cream truck sheet is the one children ask for by name, with the serving window open, a striped awning and a giant cone bolted to the roof. Alongside it there is a shop counter with tubs behind the glass, a beach stand under a parasol, a two wheeled cart with a bell on the handle, and an open freezer case with the scoop resting on top.

Ice cream and animals

For the child who would rather colour a creature than a dessert. A round cat licking a cone held in both paws, a floppy eared puppy staring at one it has just dropped, a bear cub holding a double scoop over its head, a penguin on a block of ice, and a unicorn with a soft serve swirl standing up beside its horn.

Thick lines and fine lines

The two ends of the collection. Three toddler sheets are drawn with very thick outlines and no small gaps to worry about: a giant cone, three plain cones side by side, and a popsicle the size of the page. At the other end an ice cream castle and a sundae standing on a lace doily will hold an eight year old for a long afternoon.

Are these ice cream coloring pages easy enough for a preschooler?

Several of them are made for exactly that age. The three toddler sheets are drawn with lines thick enough for a chunky crayon and have no small gaps anywhere, which is what a three year old can actually stay inside. The mandala, zentangle and castle sheets are the opposite, and are meant for school age children.
